This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) on adults, children and infants.

The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends you update your CPR skills and knowledge annually.

Apply First Aid (HLTFA301C) – previously known as Senior First Aid

Overview:

his comprehensive yet simple one day course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to manage a diverse range of first aid situations from common medical emergencies to trauma related accidents and injuries. Apply First Aid is the minimum qualification required by workplace health and safety legislation for workplace first aiders.
Perform CPR HLTCPR201A is also included in this course.

Duration: Approximately 8 hours' pre reading and online workbook plus 8 hours practical workshop attendance

Apply Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (HLTFA404A)

Overview:

This course deals with the provision of advanced first aid resuscitation techniques, life support, and management of casualty(s), until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and the provision of support to other providers.

Pre-requisite:

This course should be assessed after achievement of one of the following related courses: HLTFA301B: Apply First Aid HLTCPR201A: Perform CPR or HLTFA201A: Provide emergency life support

In general it is recommended that people using advanced resuscitation techniques have completed HLTFA301B Apply First Aid.

Duration: 6 hours

What you will learn:

- Prepare resuscitation equipment - Resuscitation techniques - Attach and operate an AED - Administer oxygen - Operate suction equipment - Restore and maintain equipment

Apply Advanced First Aid (HLTFA402B)

Overview:

This course deals with the provision of advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and provision of support to other providers.
The course builds on HLTFA301B: Apply First Aid to include additional skills and use of a range of equipment.

Pre-requisite:

This course should be assessed after achievement of the following related course: HLTFA301B Apply First Aid

This unit is structured to incorporate the content of : HLTFA404A Apply advanced resuscitation techniques

Duration: 6 hours

Course in Low Voltage Electrical Work Rescue (39253QLD)

Overview:

This course has 2 components.
1. This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council.
2. Participants will also learn how to safety perform a low voltage rescue using a low voltage rescue kit.

Pre-requisite:

Duration: 3.5 - 4hours

What you will learn:

- DRSABCD Basic Life Support Flow Chart
- Respond to signs of an unconscious casualty
- Communicating details of the incident
- Introduction to electrical safety regulations
- Use of low voltage rescue equipment

Anaphylaxis Workshop

This simple yet practical course gives participants the necessary skills and knowledge to recognise and manage a patient suffering from a severe life threatening allergic reaction.

Duration: 1 hour

General Evacuation Instruction (Fire Training Theory)

Overview:

This course gives participants the skills and knowledge to safely evacuate their workplace in the event of a fire.

Pre-requisite:

This course should be assessed after achievement of the following related course: HLTFA301B Apply First Aid

This unit is structured to incorporate the content of: HLTFA404A Apply advanced resuscitation techniques

Duration:
- General Evacuation Instruction: 1 hour
- General and First Response Evacuation Instruction: 2 hours

What you will learn:

- The location of the buildings’ escape routes (fire exits and pathways to an exit)
- A procedure for conducting members of the public to an exit and then to the designated assembly area (safe place).
- Checking of all rooms (including toilets) for people (after assessing the risk from smoke or fire).
- Communicating details of the incident
- The location of fire-fighting equipment (fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels).
- The location of fire alarms or equipment for warning of fire (if applicable)
- The method of operation of fire fighting equipment (fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reels).
- The method used to activate fire alarms or equipment for warning of fire (if applicable).

Outcome:

On completion of this course staff with be recorded on an attendance sheet for employee validation purposes.

First Response Evacuation Instruction (Fire Training Practical)

Overview:

Overview:

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell or serve alcohol and to satisfy the requirements for responsible sale and service of alcohol (RSA) under state or territory legislation.
